![]() Test the latch to be sure the spring is seated correctly and it's good to go. That puts the angled corner next to the ski jump spring and they WILL snap together. That last quarter inch of trigger guard seating must be done by holding the magazine latch away from the box in the 'latched' position. A dab of grease on that angled corner would help, but it's not something normally seen. The spring has a little 'ski jump' to the end that makes it slide over the angled end of the magazine latch. At that place, the magazine catch spring and the magazine latch are 'butting heads'. The critical move takes place when the trigger guard is still about a quarter inch from being fully seated. The magazine latch has to be held to the mag box side as the box and trigger guard is worked into the inletting. The barreled action has to be in the stock before installing the bottom metal. The magazine latch spring clips to the action skirt. I learned a lot and figured I'd pass it on for people doing searches on this problem. It's extremely rare for charging sage rats to swarm so fast and furious I run out!ĭave and I swapped IMs yesterday but he's still having trouble with it. I shoot varmints and watch the field and reload the mag at the same time. 223s stuck in various gun cases as spares in case I lose one in the field. I smoke them and tap where needed with a plastic mallet. 204 Ruger.I agree with some CZ magazines being overly wide. I am getting a great deal for it and from what I see these are issues that can be cured.Īlso, one more question. The matching checkered butt stock butt stock is fair with moderate cracks on either side at the frame as well as some. I think I will go ahead and get this rifle. Thank you for the info that is very helpful. While the above may appear to be a lot of negatives these are my thoughts on the 527, but all in all I give them a thumbs up, it's just that nothing is going to be perfect for everyone. The fire position is marked with a bright red dot. If you are not familular with the saftey, it is backwards to the American style, meaning it is on "safe" when in the forward position and on "fire" in the rear position. ![]() Designed to fit the small base calibers perfectly, the CZ 527 is a true micro length Mauser style action and features. The action is a bit stiff out of the box but nights of cycling has got a bit smoother. The M1 improves the aesthetics and ergonomics of the original 527 with a redesigned trigger guard and flush fit 3 round detachable magazine as well as improved grip geometry. The gripe I have with the set is the terrible over travel with them, I just cant get used to that. The single set trigger is ok, I set the regular pull for 3lbs and on the set they are 12ozs. The stock features dual palm swells which is a nice touch but does increase the grip size and might be to large for smaller hands. I must say that I am a little miffed at CZ. Indeed, enough so that I paid 740 up front to assure delivery. This was a 'new for 2017' configuration and I was pretty excited about it. There is fellow that does a bolt modification that cures that problem but my mind is dawing a blank. The four month wait for my new suppressor-ready CZ 527 in 7.62x39 ended last night. Depending on the scope, medium of high rings are nesscesary to give enough clearance for the bolt not to hit the eye piece. One thing that is common with them is the bolt clearance or lack of with the ocular peice. This with handloads mostly, my rifle does not like Hornady's factory 40 gr load but shoots the 32gr factory load good. Have shot many 5 shot groups in the 3/8-1/2 inch range but I wont call it a 1/2 moa rifle more likey just under moa on average. It's a decent rifle, my action/barrel could stand to be bedded though as the barrel is a bit off center. I have a couple of 527's and one is a Kevlar model in.
